Peppie
Wiersma expresses her talent over a wide range of musical styles
reaching from the 17th to the 21st centuries. She has worked
with a large number of conductors, ensembles and composers among
today's best known: Ensemble Modern, György Ligeti, Philippe
Herreweghe, Karlheinz Stockhausen, La Petite Bande, Peter Eötvös,
Klangforum Wien, Frans Brüggen, Collegium Vocale Gent, Das
Neue Ensemble. Currently principal timpanist of the Dutch Radio
Chamber Orchestra and member of the Asko Ensemble, she particularly
enjoys playing chamber music.
Recent
engagements include concerts in Vienna, Cologne and Strassbourg
with Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Tamara Stefanovich and Daniel Ciampolini
in Bartok's Sonata for two pianos and percussion.
